Can sinus infections cause stomach pain?

Dealing with chronic sinus infections, and lately, I've also had this recurring dull ache in my stomach. Could there be a connection, or is it just a coincidence that my stomach hurts when my sinuses are bad?

I completely understand how scary it feels when your stomach starts hurting along with a head cold, it makes you worry if something else is wrong. But yes, swallowing sinus mucus all day can easily upset your stomach. Try to breathe, you're not alone, and a quick chat with a doctor will help clear things up.

Yes, when mucus drains into the digestive tract, it can cause mild irritation and cramps. I suggest drinking warm fennel water to soothe the stomach and practicing gentle abdominal breathing to relax the muscles. Please consult a doctor to treat the core infection.

Definitely can, especially if you're taking strong sinus medications or antibiotics on an empty stomach. I always make sure to eat a small, clean meal before any meds and take a probiotic if my doctor suggests it. Keep your hydration levels high.

I literally spend hours googling whenever I get stomach pain with sinus, thinking it's some major internal issue! But actually, post-nasal drip just messes up your digestion. Try not to worry too much, but definitely visit a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

Managing my high blood pressure means I have to be very careful with the sinus medications I take, as some can cause stomach pain or raise BP. The mucus drainage itself can also irritate your stomach. Please consult your physician for a safe prescription rather than self-treating.

Yes, it can happen, but before you spend money on expensive gastro tests, see a general physician first. Often, it's just mucus irritation or a side effect of sinus meds. A simple consultation is much cheaper and more practical than jumping to big tests.

I’m dealing with this right now and the stomach cramps are making me so anxious. Has anyone else felt this dull ache in their upper stomach during a sinus flare-up? I'm planning to see my doctor tomorrow because it’s really bothering me.

Yaar, actually yes! Swallowing all that gross phlegm makes your stomach feel super acidic and painful. I usually get bad acidity during sinus attacks, so it’s pretty common. Just get a doc to check it out if it hurts too much.

Please go get this checked. I once ignored stomach pain during a bad sinus infection, thinking it was just acidity, but it turned out to be a severe reaction to self-prescribed painkillers. Don't ignore what your body is telling you; see a doctor.

Yes, swallowing sinus mucus can definitely irritate your stomach lining and cause pain. It's quite common, so do consult a doctor if it doesn't get better.
