Can sinus infection cause chest pain?

A bad sinus infection has been bothering me for over a week, and now I'm feeling this discomfort and pain in my chest. It's making me a bit worried, so I wanted to ask if a sinus infection can actually cause chest pain or if I should be concerned about something else?

Look, don't rely on random internet threads or home remedies when it comes to chest pain. Even if sinus coughing or post-nasal drip can cause muscle soreness in the chest, any chest discomfort needs to be verified by a real doctor immediately to rule out serious cardiac issues. Go to a clinic.

Please get this checked by a physician right away. I once ignored a dull chest ache thinking it was just a bad sinus cough, and it turned into a severe lung infection that took me months to recover from. Don't make the same mistake I did; go see a doctor today.

Yes, but you have to be very cautious here. While constant coughing from sinus fluid can make your chest muscles ache, chest pain can also mean the infection has spread or it's something else entirely. Since chest pain is a critical symptom, please don't take any chances and visit an emergency room or a doctor immediately.

According to my ENT, sinus infections can cause chest discomfort in two ways: intense coughing that strains chest wall muscles, or post-nasal drip causing bronchitis-like symptoms. However, my doctor specifically warned me that any new or sharp chest pain must be evaluated medically to ensure it isn't cardiac or a deep respiratory issue. Please see a professional.

Heavy coughing fits from sinus congestion can strain your intercostal chest muscles, making it feel like chest pain. I usually focus on eating warm, high-protein soups and staying hydrated to soothe my throat, but if you feel actual pressure or tightness in the chest, stop everything and go to a hospital.

At my age, any pain between my stomach and head makes me panic, haha! But yes, a bad sinus infection with all that coughing and throat clearing can make your chest muscles feel like you did 100 bench presses. Still, to sleep peacefully at night, better get a doctor to listen to your chest with a stethoscope.
