Can shingles cause back pain?

I had shingles a few months ago, and since then, I've been having persistent back pain that wasn't there before. Is it possible that shingles can cause back pain, even after the rash has healed?

I consulted a neurologist at Manipal Hospital when my father had severe back pain during shingles. He clearly explained that the virus rests in the spinal nerves, so sharp back pain is a very common early symptom. Please get a proper clinical diagnosis to manage the nerve pain effectively.

Yes, shingles causes terrible back pain, but don't rush for expensive MRIs right away without a doctor suggesting it. Ask your local government hospital or a trusted general physician first to get basic nerve pain medications. It will save you a lot of unnecessary test expenses.

When I had shingles on my back at age 50, the pain started days before any rash appeared. I thought it was just regular back ache from household chores, but then the blisters came. Don't worry, the pain is intense but it gradually fades away with the right treatment.

Having high BP and managing shingles back pain together was very tough for me last year. The stress of the pain can shoot up your blood pressure, so please keep monitoring your vitals. Keep your salt intake low, rest well, and consult your physician regularly.

Oh yes, shingles back pain can be super painful, almost like a electric shock! ⚡ But don't lose heart, with proper antiviral medicines and lots of rest, you will be back to normal soon. Take care and keep smiling! 😊

The back pain from shingles literally broke my spirit and I used to cry every night because nothing seemed to help. It is incredibly exhausting and emotionally draining, so please be gentle with yourself. Talk to your family for support and don't hesitate to ask your doctor for stronger pain relief.

I ignored the sharp back pain for five days, thinking it was a simple muscle pull, and missed the window for taking antiviral medicines. Now I suffer from chronic nerve pain that just won't go away easily. Please get checked by a doctor immediately if you suspect shingles.

Actually yaar, shingles back pain is next level painful because it targets the spinal nerves directly. I couldn't even sit straight for a week when I had it. Make sure you don't apply any random heat pads on the rash, just take the doctor's pills.
