Can shingles cause a stroke?

My neighbour recently had a bad case of shingles, and now he's worried about other health issues. I heard someone say that shingles can increase your risk of having a stroke later on. Is there any truth to this connection?

I am barely surviving on three hours of sleep, but reading this made me sit up. Honestly, shingles is painful enough on its own without adding stroke fears to the mix. Go talk to a doctor instead of googling at 2 AM like I do, it will save your sleep!

Look, shingles is a serious viral infection, and if it spreads near the head or neck, it can inflammation of the blood vessels. This is not something you treat with home remedies or ignore. Go straight to a specialist and get the right antiviral medications started.

My uncle had shingles near his eye last year and the doctor told us there is actually a slight risk of stroke if the virus affects the facial nerves. They put him on antivirals immediately to prevent any complications. Don't take it lightly, bro, get medical help fast.

Whoa, that escalated quickly from a skin rash to a stroke! While there is a rare medical link if the rash is near your eyes, most people just end up with itchy skin and a very bad mood. Just visit your doc and get some soothing lotion instead of planning your will.
