Can sex cause a heart attack?

My uncle had a heart attack a few years ago. Recently, someone mentioned that too much exertion during sex could trigger a heart attack. Is there any truth to this or is it just an old wives' tale? I'm getting older so thoda tension hota hai.

While sex is a form of physical exertion, the risk of it triggering a heart attack is actually very low. However, when I visited my cardiologist, they advised that if you already have a history of heart disease, you must ask your doctor clearly about what level of physical activity is safe for you.

Look, as someone who recovered from a cardiac issue, I had the same concern. My doctor told me that if you can climb two flights of stairs without chest pain or shortness of breath, you are generally safe for intimacy. Just don't overexert yourself and keep your regular checkups.

Keeping your heart healthy with a low-salt diet and regular light walks is important. Generally, sex does not cause heart attacks in healthy people. But if you or your partner feel any sudden chest pain, sweating, or severe breathlessness during any physical activity, stop immediately and seek emergency medical help.

Actually yaar, it is mostly a myth from movies. Unless someone already has a severe, undiagnosed heart condition, normal intimacy isn't going to trigger an attack. It's just like mild exercise. But if you feel super fatigued or have chest heaviness, get it checked by a doc, simple.

At my age, climbing up to the first floor feels like a marathon, so I get the worry! But honestly, sex is just light exercise for the heart. Unless you are pushing yourself too hard or already have heart blockages, you don't need to worry. Just keep your cholesterol in check.
