Can severe constipation cause vomiting?

My aunt has been having very severe constipation for the past few days, and she even vomited this morning. Her doctor told her it might be related. Can such bad constipation actually lead to vomiting?

Yes, severe constipation can definitely trigger vomiting because of a backup in the digestive tract or even a bowel obstruction. Since this can become a serious medical issue quickly, taking self-prescribed laxatives is risky. It's best to consult a gastroenterologist for proper treatment.

Beta, when the bowels are completely blocked, the body tries to reject food and you can feel very nauseous or even vomit. You can sip on thin buttermilk with bhuna jeera or warm ginger water to soothe the stomach. But if the vomiting is continuous and you can't keep liquids down, please show a doctor immediately.

I didn't know constipation could cause vomiting, that sounds really painful and scary. Does the vomiting stop as soon as you manage to clear your stomach, or do you need to take separate medicines for the nausea too? Hope you feel better soon.

Vomiting is a major warning sign that your digestion is completely stalled. If your doctor says it's safe and there is no severe blockage, try light walking to get your bowel movements going. Active movement helps stimulate the gut, but please resolve the vomiting issue with a medical professional first.

Managing high BP has taught me that the gut controls so much of our health, and vomiting during severe constipation means your system is under heavy strain. You need a complete lifestyle overhaul with proper hydration and fiber. For now, please get a checkup done to rule out any serious blockages.
