Can sciatica cause groin pain?

Diagnosed with sciatica, I sometimes feel a sharp pain in my groin area, apart from my usual leg pain. It feels connected. Is it possible for sciatica to cause pain in the groin?

Yes, it can, because the nerves in the lower spine branch out near the pelvic area. I manage high BP, so I always focus on maintaining a healthy weight and regular doctor checkups. Don't ignore these pains, get a proper assessment.

I know how incredibly worrying it is when you feel pain in the groin area, your mind instantly goes to the worst scenario. It is a very scary feeling, but please know that nerve radiating pain can definitely cause this. See a doctor to put your mind at ease.

Dekho, back pain jab badhta hai toh aaspas ke muscles aur nerves mein bhi dard hota hai, jisme groin area bhi hai. Isko normal muscle strain samajh kar bethe mat raho. Doctor se milo aur clear diagnosis karwao.

Haan na, groin pain ho toh bahut uncomfortable hota hai chalne mein. Sciatic nerve compress hone se yeh bilkul ho sakta hai. Tum thoda aaram karo aur spine specialist ko dikhao, thik ho jayega.

Yes, radiating nerve pain can reach the groin. Along with seeing a doctor, I suggest maintaining a clean, anti-inflammatory vegetarian diet with turmeric and ginger to help with general body inflammation. Hope you feel better soon.

I am feeling this weird pulling pain in my groin along with my lower backache and I am so anxious. Has anyone else experienced this with their sciatica? Please share if this is normal because I am really scared.

I literally just recovered from this. The groin pain was so sharp I thought I had a muscle tear, but my MRI showed a herniated L5 disc compressing the sciatic nerve. Proper physical therapy fixed it, so get it checked soon.

You can try gentle hot water bag fomentation on your lower back to see if it relaxes the nerves. But groin pain can also point to hernia or hip joint issues, so if it is severe, please see a doctor immediately.

At my age, when pain starts traveling to random places like the groin, I just stop trying to guess! But yes, sciatica is notorious for radiating pain. Just head to a good doc and let them sort out the wiring.
