Can running cause low back pain?
I recently started running to improve my fitness, but after a few sessions, I've developed a nagging pain in my lower back. I'm wondering if running is actually causing this low back pain for me.

Honestly, if you get an MRI right away, it will easily cost you 4000 to 5000 rupees. Better to pause running for a week and see if the pain goes away on its own. If it doesn't, plan your budget for a proper doctor visit instead of spending on random gel and belts.
Same happened with me last month, my lower back was screaming after just a 2km run. I think my posture was bad because I was rushing back home to eat hot kachoris. Joke apart, heavy running on hard roads definitely impacts the back, so eat well and rest for a bit.
It can definitely happen if your core is weak or your shoes don't have good cushioning. If your doctor says it is safe, try switching to brisk walking on a softer track for a few days. You can also add some light core strengthening exercises to support your lower back.
Even I am facing this exact same issue since last week and I'm really worried. Did your pain start suddenly or was it a gradual dull ache? Please let me know if anyone else here got cured just by resting.
