Can rheumatoid arthritis cause nausea?

I've been feeling quite nauseous on and off for the past few weeks, even though I haven't changed my diet much. My mother has RA and she sometimes feels this way too, so I'm wondering if my rheumatoid arthritis could be causing this.

Yes, it absolutely can. Drinking some ginger tea or sniffing a lemon helps me a lot when the nausea hits due to my meds.

I have lived with RA for over twenty years now, and I remember how bad the nausea used to be in the beginning. It was mostly due to the heavy medications I was prescribed. Don't worry, once your body gets used to the treatment, or if the doctor adjusts the doses, this feeling will settle down.

Nausea is quite common, but you must ask your doctor clearly about it. When I had this, my specialist at Apollo Hospital explained that it's often a side effect of methotrexate or painkillers rather than the RA itself. They can easily prescribe something to manage the stomach upset.

I used to feel very sluggish and nauseous, but I noticed that going for a gentle 20-minute morning walk in the fresh air really helps clear my head and settles my stomach. Of course, check with your doctor first if your joints can handle the walking.

If the nausea is bad, check if your liver function tests are due, as some RA meds can affect the liver and cause sickness. Instead of going to expensive private labs, you can get these blood tests done at government diagnostic centers for a fraction of the cost.

I was dealing with terrible morning nausea for the last three months after starting my new RA pills. My doctor recently changed the timing of my dose and added a mild antacid, and I feel so much better now. There is definitely a way out of this.

Yes, nausea is a well-documented issue for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, primarily as an adverse effect of DMARDs or NSAIDs. While lifestyle tweaks like smaller, frequent meals can help, your prescribing doctor's advice is absolutely necessary to adjust the therapy.

Actually, yes yaar, it makes you feel so nauseous. Sometimes even the sheer pain and fatigue can make your stomach feel weird. Just talk to your doc, they usually give a medicine to take before food to prevent this.

There were days I just sat and cried because the nausea made it impossible to eat anything, and I felt so hopeless. It is a very real and exhausting part of this disease. Please know you are not alone in this, and it does get better once the meds are adjusted.

Nausea can be a sign of gastritis or liver irritation from your long-term arthritis medications. It is very important to get this checked by your doctor promptly to make sure your organs are tolerating the treatment safely.

Yeah bro, it definitely does. Whenever I take my weekly dose, I feel super pukish the next day. I just try to eat very light, simple home-cooked food on those days and sleep it off.

Omg yes, my roomie has RA and she feels nauseous so often, especially after her weekend meds. It seriously sucks because it messes with her eating and studying schedules. She usually keeps some mints with her always.

Oh God, I get so anxious when I feel nauseous, I immediately start worrying if my liver is failing or if it's something worse! But honestly, my doctor reassured me it's mostly just acidity from the strong painkillers. Try to take your medicines strictly after meals.

Don't go buying random herbal powders online to cure this nausea, they can react badly with your arthritis drugs. Nausea in RA is usually a direct side effect of prescription pills. Let your rheumatologist know so they can fix it scientifically.

I totally get it, dealing with joint pain is hard enough, and having constant nausea on top of that is just miserable. It makes you feel so weak and down. Please be gentle with yourself and ask your doctor if they can change your medication routine.
