Can rheumatoid arthritis cause eye problems?

I've been experiencing dry, irritated eyes lately, and I have rheumatoid arthritis. Someone told me that RA can affect the eyes. Is it true that rheumatoid arthritis can cause eye problems?

Yes, actually RA can cause severe dryness or even inflammation in the eyes, yaar. I had really red and painful eyes last year and thought it was just screen strain, but my doc said it's related to the arthritis. Get it checked out by an eye doctor soon.

Yes, it can cause dry eyes. While you're eating lots of colorful veggies and fish curry to get those good vitamins for eye health, make sure you don't ignore any redness. Definitely mention it to your rheumatologist during your checkup.

Oh god, this is one of my biggest fears with RA! Every time my eyes get slightly red or dry, I start panicking about inflammation spreading to my vision. Just stay strong, don't overthink like me, and let a doctor take a look to keep you safe.

It can indeed affect the eyes, causing dryness or redness. While washing your eyes with clean, cool water can bring temporary relief, eye issues with RA can be serious. Please consult an ophthalmologist immediately if you feel pain or notice vision changes.

Yes, eye dryness is quite common with RA. My cousin had this issue and the doctor gave her simple lubricating eye drops which helped a lot. Keep a clean damp cloth over your closed eyes to soothe them, but do get a prescription first.
