Can rheumatoid arthritis cause bruising?

My grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis, and we've noticed she bruises very easily now, even from minor bumps. Can rheumatoid arthritis cause increased bruising, or should we be concerned about something else?

Yes, bruising can happen, but it is often linked to the medications like steroids that people take for RA, which thin the skin. Focus on a diet rich in Vitamin C and K to support skin and blood vessel health, and avoid heavy lifting or rough workouts during these phases.

My sister gets blue marks easily since she started her arthritis treatment. Our doctor said it's quite common due to the medicines. We just make sure she avoids bumping into furniture and uses an ice pack gently if a bruise appears.

Yes, easy bruising can happen. My mother suggested applying turmeric paste to the bruises, which is comforting, but we also consulted our rheumatologist. He explained it was a side effect of the regular medications, so always trust your doctor's word first.

Yes, it can. Many RA medications, especially corticosteroids or blood thinners, can make you bruise easily. Keep an eye on how often they appear, and make sure to tell your doctor during your next visit so they can check your blood counts if needed.

I don't have time for complex routines, but I noticed easy bruising on my arms after starting my RA prescription. Mentioned it to my specialist during my quick 10-minute follow-up, and they adjusted the dosage. Get it checked; don't wait.

Bruising in RA patients is typically a secondary effect of corticosteroid medications rather than the disease itself. However, because it can also indicate low platelet counts or other issues, it's best to consult your treating physician for an accurate assessment.

I deal with thyroid issues and know how medications can sometimes affect the skin and blood. Bruising with RA is often a side effect of steroid treatments. I highly suggest getting regular blood tests and discussing this clearly with your doctor.
