Can remineralizing gum heal cavities?

I've heard about this concept of 'remineralizing gum' that claims to fix small cavities. Is it really possible for chewing a special gum to heal cavities naturally?

Honestly, I don't think any chewing gum can magically fix a proper cavity once it has already formed. It might help with early tooth decay if you use it regularly. But if you have a deep cavity and toothache, you definitely need a dentist to fill it up.

Remineralizing gum with ingredients like xylitol or CPP-ACP can help restore minerals to your enamel in the very early stages of decay. But it won't heal an actual physical cavity or hole in the tooth. Keep tracking your dental hygiene and visit a dentist for a proper checkup.

As a diabetic, I have to be extremely careful about dental health because gum infections can spike sugar levels. If you are using any gums, make sure they are strictly sugar-free. But don't rely on them to cure a cavity, go to a dentist.

Haha, if chewing gum could heal cavities, dentists would be out of business by now! It might freshen your breath and help a tiny bit with enamel, but those actual holes need a real drill and filling. Time to book that dentist appointment!

I didn't even know such a thing existed, is it like regular gum? My teeth have been feeling a bit sensitive lately. Does this actually help with sensitivity, or should I just go see a dentist directly?

These specialty gums can be quite expensive to buy regularly. In the long run, it is much cheaper to spend on a basic dentist checkup and get a small filling done before the cavity grows deep and requires a costly root canal treatment.

Eating a balanced diet with enough calcium and avoiding sugary snacks is much better for your teeth. These gums might give a temporary mineral boost, but they can't reverse decay. Better to get a professional dental cleaning and checkup done.
