Can ra cause fever?

I've been living with rheumatoid arthritis for some years now, and recently I've been getting unexplained fevers that come and go. I was wondering if RA itself can cause a fever as one of its symptoms. My joints are already aching, and this new symptom is concerning.

Yes, rheumatoid arthritis can definitely cause a low-grade fever, especially during a flare-up. Since RA is an autoimmune disease, your body is basically fighting itself, which leads to inflammation and feverish feelings. Make sure to rest well and talk to your rheumatologist about adjusting your meds.

Yes, systemic inflammation from RA can cause a fever. Just like managing my high BP, dealing with RA requires regular doctor checkups and tracking your symptoms carefully. Make sure you don't ignore persistent fevers, as they can sometimes indicate an underlying infection due to immunosuppressant medications.

Yes, RA causes deep internal inflammation which can manifest as mild fever and fatigue. When the body is in this inflamed state, gentle pranayama like Shitali or Sheetkari can help cool down the system naturally. However, please consult your main doctor to keep a close eye on your joint health.

I absolutely panicked the first time I got a mild fever during my joint pain flare, thinking I had caught some major virus. But my doctor reassured me that low fevers are totally normal with active RA inflammation. Just rest up, keep yourself hydrated, and it should settle down as the flare-up subsides.

Yes, my mother has RA and she often gets a warm forehead and mild fever during her bad joint pain days. At home, we give her light rasam and warm water to soothe her, but we always consult her rheumatologist if the fever lasts more than two days. Please keep your doctor updated on this.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to suddenly run a fever when you are already dealing with painful joints. Your anxiety is totally valid, but rest assured, RA is systemic and often causes mild fevers. It is still a good idea to call your doctor to rule out any other infection just to ease your mind.
