Can pulmonary embolism pain come and go?

My mother-in-law recently had a pulmonary embolism, and she complains that her chest pain sometimes disappears for a while and then comes back. Can the pain from a pulmonary embolism actually come and go like that? It's confusing for us.

While eating healthy, green leafy vegetables and staying hydrated is good for blood flow, it cannot cure or prevent a blood clot. If you are experiencing chest pain that comes and goes, please do not try to manage it with home remedies or diet changes. Get a medical checkup immediately.

I don't know much about this, but it sounds really scary. Can chest pain from a clot actually feel like normal acidity pain at first? My uncle has some chest discomfort that goes away when he rests, and we are quite worried if we should take him to the hospital right now.

Normally I'd say maybe it's just gas from eating too many spicy chole bhature, but a pulmonary embolism is extremely serious business. If there is any chance it's a clot, please skip the home sodas and walk straight to a doctor. This isn't something to ignore over cravings.

Yes, absolutely, it can come and go depending on your breathing or posture, but please do not take it lightly. When I had my pulmonary embolism last year, the sharp pain came mostly when taking deep breaths and then subsided when I sat still. Don't wait for it to get worse, get to an emergency room immediately.

I ignored a similar sharp pain that came and went, thinking it was just a muscle stitch, and ended up in the ICU with severe lung complications later. It is a critical condition that requires blood thinners immediately. Please go to a hospital and get a d-dimer test or scan done without any delay.

I was reading some medical journals on clotting disorders, and yes, PE pain can sometimes fluctuate depending on how you move or breathe. But because it affects oxygen levels, any chest pain that comes and goes needs an urgent doctor checkup to make sure things are fine.

Look, stop searching online and trying to analyze if the pain is coming or going. A clot in the lungs is a major emergency and can be life-threatening if ignored. Get off your phone, tell a family member, and go straight to the nearest hospital casualty department right now.
