Can psoriatic arthritis cause anxiety?

Dealing with the pain and stiffness from psoriatic arthritis is already a lot, but lately I feel very anxious and stressed all the time. I'm wondering if there's a link between the two. Can psoriatic arthritis cause or worsen anxiety?

It definitely can. Dealing with chronic pain and skin flares causes a lot of mental stress, which my fitness app's health logs clearly show affects sleep and heart rate. Regular light exercise and meditation can help track and manage these anxiety spikes.

When you have constant body aches and worry about medical bills, anxiety is bound to happen. Try doing basic breathing exercises at home for 10 minutes daily and share your worries with family, it doesn't cost anything and really calms the mind.

Haan na, physical pain ke sath mind pe bhi asar hota hi hai. Jab joints me bohot pain hota hai toh future ki chinta hone lagti hai ki kaise manage hoga sab. Thoda deep breathing karo aur tension mat lo, medicines se pain control hoga toh anxiety bhi kam hogi.

Yes, living with chronic pain is very exhausting and can naturally make you feel anxious. Please take care of yourself, and don't hesitate to talk to a counselor or your doctor if it feels too heavy.

I totally get it, chronic illness and anxiety often go hand in hand because the pain can feel so unpredictable. It is completely valid to feel worried about how it affects your daily life. Please don't suffer in silence and talk to your doctor about your mental health too.

My daughter has this and she used to get very anxious during college exams because of joint stiffness. We started focusing on a healthy routine, gentle yoga, and ensuring she gets good sleep, which really helped her cope. Be gentle with yourself, you are not alone in this.
