Can psoriasis cause baldness?

I have psoriasis on my scalp, and I'm really worried about losing my hair. My dad started balding early, and now with these patches, I'm thinking, can psoriasis actually cause baldness?

Yes, severe scalp psoriasis can cause temporary hair thinning, but it usually grows back once the scalp heals. Don't worry, it doesn't cause permanent baldness.

I had severe scalp psoriasis last year and lost quite a bit of hair where the patches were heavy. But honestly, it wasn't permanent baldness. Once my doctor gave me the right lotion to clear up the patches, my hair started growing back normally.

The hair fall you see is usually temporary and due to the stress on the scalp. Practicing gentle pranayama helps improve blood circulation to the head and calms the system. Be kind to your body, avoid harsh chemicals, and let the scalp heal in its own time.

While scalp psoriasis itself doesn't damage the hair follicles permanently, the constant scratching and pulling of tight scales can lead to temporary hair loss. It is highly recommended to consult a dermatologist for a targeted scalp treatment rather than trying aggressive anti-dandruff shampoos which might irritate it more.

I completely understand how scary it is to see hair falling out with the scales. I tried so many home remedies like onion juice and different oils, but honestly, harsh rubbing only made it worse. Gently applying lukewarm coconut oil to soften the scales before washing helped me much more.

I have noticed that high stress levels affect both my blood pressure and my skin flare-ups, which sometimes leads to hair fall. Keeping a regular check on your health and managing stress is very important. Make sure you get regular checkups with your doctor to manage both the skin and overall health.
