Can protein drinks cause kidney problems?

I drink protein shakes every day after my gym workout. My cousin told me that too much protein can harm your kidneys. Can protein drinks cause kidney problems in the long run?

Look, I have been using basic protein supplements on and off for twenty years now to maintain muscle as I age. If your kidneys are perfectly healthy, they can easily handle normal amounts of protein. Just don't go overboard with massive dosages and always drink plenty of water.

I have mild high blood pressure, so I always get my kidney function tested every six months. My doctor said protein shakes won't damage normal kidneys, but we must keep our BP in check because hypertension actually harms the kidneys first. Keep an eye on your lifestyle and get your regular blood tests done.

Honestly, this is a huge myth unless you already have some pre-existing kidney issues. If your creatinine levels and kidney function tests are normal, protein shakes are totally safe. Just buy a clean, third-party tested brand instead of cheap local stuff.

If protein shakes destroyed kidneys, half of the gym-goers in my city would be in the hospital by now! Relax, it's just concentrated food, not some dangerous chemical. Just don't replace your actual meals with only powders and you will be absolutely fine.

Managing my diabetes means I have to be very careful about protein and kidney health, as high sugar can stress them. My doctor told me that high-protein diets are only a problem if you already have diabetic kidney damage. If you are diabetic too, definitely ask your doctor before starting any supplement.

As someone working in health services, I see people asking this daily. Protein drinks don't cause kidney damage in healthy individuals, but they can worsen a silent, existing kidney issue. It's always smart to get a basic renal function test (KFT) done once to be 100% sure before starting.

Aise hi kidney kharab nahi hoti, tension mat lo na. Normal intake se kuch nahi hota, but haan, pani achhe se pina padta hai protein diet pe. Agar darr lag raha hai toh ek baar normal routine blood test karwa lo doctor se pooch ke.
