Can prostate cancer cause back pain?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he's also been complaining a lot about constant back pain for a while. We thought it was just old age. Is there a connection between prostate cancer and back pain?

Yes, prostate issues can sometimes cause referred pain in the lower back. Gentle, restorative breathing and very light stretches can help soothe your nervous system, but please do not ignore this pain and seek proper medical evaluation.

I am new here and still trying to understand this topic for my father. Does the back pain feel like a constant dull ache or is it sharp? We are planning to visit the doctor soon to ask about this.

Hey, don't stress too much right away, sometimes back pain is just from bad posture or sitting too long. But since it's related to the prostate, it is definitely best to mention it to your doc just to be 100% safe. Take care, buddy.

Yes, advanced prostate cancer can metastasize to the bones, which frequently causes lower back pain. It is very important to report any new back pain to your oncologist immediately so they can do an imaging scan.

While regular movement is usually great for back pain, with a prostate cancer diagnosis, you need to be very careful. Don't do any heavy lifting or workouts until your doctor confirms the source of the back pain.

Do not rely on random online forums or home remedies for back pain if there is a prostate cancer diagnosis. This is a critical medical issue that only an oncologist can properly evaluate through scans. Get a doctor's opinion immediately.

My elders always suggest warm compresses for back aches, but in the case of prostate issues, we must rely completely on medical specialists. Please consult your doctor to find the exact cause of this pain.

When my prostate cancer spread to my pelvic bones, back pain was my first major symptom. My advice is to get a bone scan done as advised by your oncologist immediately; don't try to manage it with local pain relief sprays.
