Can prolonged sitting cause vulvar pain?

Since I started working from home, I spend most of my day sitting at my desk. Lately, I've been experiencing this uncomfortable pain in my vulvar area. Could prolonged sitting actually be the cause of this kind of pain?

Not exactly the same, but as a gamer who sits for 10 hours, prolonged sitting causes massive pelvic and nerve pressure for anyone. It restricts blood flow badly, so I am pretty sure it can cause serious discomfort down there for women too.

Look, sitting on hard chairs for hours puts a lot of pressure on your pelvic nerves and can definitely cause pain. Don't sit in one place like a statue. Get up every 45 minutes, stretch, and if the pain is bad, go see a gynecologist.

Yes beta, prolonged sitting can compress the nerves in the pelvic region and cause burning or aching. Try using a soft cushion, wear loose cotton clothes, and don't ignore it if it doesn't go away. A doctor can easily help you find relief.

I panicked so much when I had severe pelvic and vulvar pain after starting my new desk job. I thought it was some major infection, but my doctor told me it was just nerve irritation from continuous sitting. Using a donut cushion completely solved it for me!

Before you spend money on expensive ergonomic chairs or cushions, try standing up and walking around every hour for free. If you do go to a doctor, a basic consultation should cost around 500 rupees, which is worth spending to avoid bigger issues later.

While sitting too long can cause pressure and pain, you should not assume that is the only cause. Vulvar pain can sometimes be due to infections or skin issues, so please get it checked by a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

Yes, sitting all day at a corporate desk blocks circulation and pinches the pudendal nerve, which directly causes vulvar pain. Buy a standing desk converter, take breaks, and if it still hurts, go see a pelvic floor specialist.

Since I have PCOS, I already deal with pelvic congestion and discomfort, and sitting for long hours definitely makes the pain worse down there. Try to take frequent standing breaks, but please consult your gynecologist to make sure it isn't something else.
