Can premenstrual cause fever?

Just before my period starts, I often feel feverish and quite unwell. My friends say it's just PMS, but I'm curious. Can premenstrual syndrome actually cause a fever?

A slight increase in body temperature is normal before periods, but an actual fever usually means an infection. Please consult a doctor if it is high.

Beta, during my younger days, I often used to feel very warm and feverish just before my periods started. We used to call it 'period flu' and it is quite common due to hormonal shifts. Rest well, drink plenty of water, and don't worry too much unless the temperature is very high.

I have noticed my wife's body temperature rises slightly before her cycle, and for her, the hormonal changes also affect her blood sugar levels. Keeping your body hydrated and eating a balanced, low-sugar diet during this time really helps manage the physical stress. If the fever persists, please see a doctor.

Actually, my girlfriend gets this 'period flu' almost every month, yaar. She feels super warm and exhausted, but it's usually just her body temperature shifting slightly, not a real viral fever. If it is crossing 100 degrees though, then it's probably something else and you should check with a doc.

Hormones can definitely alter your basal body temperature, making you feel feverish. If it's a mild feeling, just take it easy and manage your workload. But if it's a proper registered fever on the thermometer, don't waste time and schedule a quick virtual consultation with a doctor.

Hey, don't worry. It is actually quite common to feel feverish or have a slight rise in temperature right before your period due to normal hormonal fluctuations. Keep yourself hydrated and get extra rest. If the fever gets high or is accompanied by severe pain, promise me you'll visit a clinic.

Oh my god, I get so anxious when my temperature rises before my periods! I always think I'm getting sick, but then my period starts and the temperature drops back to normal. It is apparently due to progesterone levels rising. Just monitor it closely and try not to panic.

Thoda garm lagna theek hai, par agar sach mein tez bukhar hai toh aaram karo aur bhed-bhaav kiye bina kisi doctor ko dikha lo. Apna dhyan rakho behen.

I have seen many women on this forum discuss feeling hot or 'feverish' before their cycle. A slight basal temperature rise is normal, but a proper, high-grade fever is not. Track your temperature for a couple of days and if it stays high, get it checked by a general physician.
