Can post nasal drip cause asthma?

I suffer from chronic post-nasal drip, and lately, I've noticed my breathing becoming more difficult and wheezy, especially at night. My doctor mentioned asthma as a possibility. Can post nasal drip cause asthma, or aggravate existing symptoms?

Post nasal drip can definitely aggravate your airways and trigger asthma symptoms like wheezing, especially if you have allergies. I find that avoiding cold and dairy foods in the evening helps reduce mucus, but please consult an allergy specialist for proper medical advice.

I am new here and don't know much about this, but I have a constant runny nose and lately, I've been wheezing a little bit at night. Can post nasal drip really trigger that, or is it just a normal cough? I would love to know if anyone else has experienced this.

I have been having this constant drip and a tight feeling in my chest for weeks now, and it's making me really anxious. Does anyone else get a chest cough from post nasal drip? I'm wondering if I should get an asthma pump or see a specialist.

Yes, the constant dripping can irritate your throat and trigger asthma flare-ups! 😟 Keeping your room dust-free and using a humidifier really helps. Definitely check with your doc for a proper treatment plan!

I panicked completely when I started coughing and wheezing from my allergies, thinking I had developed chronic asthma! My doctor reassured me that the drip was just irritating my throat. Once we treated the allergy, the symptoms went away, so don't stress.
