Can poor posture cause stomach pain?

After long hours of sitting at my desk, I often get a strange discomfort in my stomach area, almost like a dull ache. It sometimes feels like indigestion. Can poor posture cause stomach pain, or is it unrelated?

Yes, actually! When you slouch, you compress your abdominal organs, which can lead to acid reflux and slow digestion, causing stomach discomfort. Try to sit up straight and see if it helps, but if the pain is sharp or doesn't go away, please consult a doctor.

I totally get it, sometimes we don't realize how much our posture affects our stomach. Hunched posture squeezes your gut and can make you feel bloated and crampy after meals. Try sitting on a supportive chair and see if it eases the pressure.

I used to get bad bloating and stomach aches from slumping on the sofa after eating. Drinking warm fennel seed water helped, but what really fixed it was sitting straight and going for a 10-minute walk after meals. Simple habits make a big difference.

I can only speak from my own experience, but I noticed my indigestion and stomach cramps got much better when I stopped slouching at my work desk. I am not a doctor, so definitely get a professional opinion if your pain is severe or ongoing.

Don't just assume your stomach pain is from bad posture because of what people say online. It could be acidity, an infection, or something else entirely. Get a proper diagnosis from a physician instead of guessing and hoping it goes away.

I panicked thinking I had some major stomach issue, but my doctor told me it was literally just muscle strain and gas from slouching over my desk all day! Once I improved my chair setup, the pain vanished. Don't worry, but do get it checked if it persists.
