Can poison ivy cause fever?

I was working in the garden last weekend and came into contact with some unfamiliar plant, and now I have a rash. I also feel a bit warm. Could this plant, possibly poison ivy, cause a fever?

I was actually reading about this online because we don't see poison ivy that commonly in India, but it can cause severe allergic reactions. Apparently, a high fever can happen if the rash gets a secondary bacterial infection from all the scratching. It's quite interesting but scary!

Yes, a severe reaction to poison ivy can sometimes trigger a mild fever as the body's immune system reacts. Keep the skin cool, try not to scratch, and apply calamine lotion. But if the fever rises high, consult your local doctor immediately.

Dekho, normal poison ivy se itching aur rash hota hai, par agar fever aa raha hai toh mamla thoda serious ho sakta hai. Ya toh infection ho gaya hai ya severe allergic reaction hai. Turant doctor ko dikhao, ghar pe baithne ki zaroorat nahi hai.

I usually track my body temperature and heart rate on my fitness band whenever I get any allergy. Severe rashes can stress the body and spike temperature. If your vitals are off and you have a fever, it's best to log it and consult a dermatologist.

While a mild systemic reaction can occasionally cause a low-grade fever, a significant fever usually indicates a secondary bacterial infection from scratching the blisters. It is highly advisable to seek a professional medical diagnosis for proper antihistamine or antibiotic treatment.

Hey, don't worry too much. A mild fever can happen if your body is fighting a strong skin reaction, but we need to make sure there's no infection. Please keep the area clean, don't scratch, and let's get a doctor to look at it just to be safe, okay?
