Can pneumonia cause heart attack?

My father had a severe case of pneumonia a few years back, and shortly after, he had a heart attack. Our family doctor said there might be a link. Is it possible for pneumonia to cause a heart attack?

Please take this very seriously and do not ignore any chest tightness. I once dismissed heavy chest pressure as a simple infection, and it turned out to be a major cardiovascular issue. If you have pneumonia and feel any sudden pain or pressure, go to the emergency room immediately.

Since I have high BP, my doctor warned me that severe respiratory infections like pneumonia can strain the heart because of low oxygen levels. It is very important to monitor your vitals and keep your blood pressure stable during recovery. Do get a proper cardiac evaluation if you feel discomfort.

Haan na, pneumonia se heart par bohot strain padta hai because oxygen level kam ho jata hai. Especially elders ke liye risk thoda badh jata hai. Pls doctor se checkup karwa lo, self-medication bilkul mat karna.

Actually, medical studies show that severe pneumonia increases the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks, especially in older adults or those with pre-existing conditions. The systemic inflammation and low oxygen put immense stress on the heart. It's crucial to seek immediate emergency medical care if you experience crushing chest pain or radiating pain.

When my teenager had severe pneumonia, the doctors monitored his oxygen and heart rate constantly because infections can strain the entire body. While it's rare in kids, in older adults it can be very risky. Please make sure the patient is resting and getting checked regularly.

Great, as if not being able to breathe or sleep from pneumonia wasn't enough, now I have to worry about a heart attack too! But seriously, if you feel weird chest pressure that isn't just a cough, don't sit on the internet. Go to the hospital.

I track my resting heart rate and blood oxygen levels using my smartwatch, and it's crazy how much an infection like pneumonia spikes your cardiovascular load. Since low SpO2 strains the heart, please keep a pulse oximeter handy. If oxygen drops below 92% or heart rate goes crazy, head straight to the clinic.
