Can plantar fasciitis cause pain in top of foot?

I've been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, and my heel pain is quite bad. But now I'm also getting a lot of tightness and pain in my calf. Is it possible for plantar fasciitis to cause this calf pain?

I was reading up on foot biomechanics, and apparently, yes. When the fascia on the bottom is too tight, the extensor tendons on the top have to work harder to lift your toes, which leads to pain on top of the foot too.

Beta, the foot is full of small nerves and bones. If there is strain at the bottom, the top will also feel tight. Gently apply warm sesame oil on the top of your foot without rubbing too hard, and keep it covered with socks.

Sometimes we tie our shoelaces too tight to support our painful heels, which causes pain on the top of the foot. Try loosening your laces and rolling your foot over a tennis ball to relax the whole structure easily.

Please be careful. I thought my top-of-foot pain was just plantar fasciitis, but it turned out to be a stress fracture from my altered walking style. If the top of your foot is swollen or hurts to touch, get an X-ray done.

It is so exhausting when the pain spreads from the heel to the top of your foot, leaving you with nowhere comfortable to stand. I remember feeling so defeated by this constant ache. It is a really difficult thing to go through.
