Can plantar fasciitis cause hip pain?

My knees have been bothering me a lot lately, along with my existing plantar fasciitis. I'm trying to figure out if it's all connected. Can plantar fasciitis actually lead to pain in the knee joint?

Oh my god, yes! I was stressing out thinking I had some major bone decay in my hip joint when it started aching. It turns out walking weirdly to save my painful heel was just wrecking my hip alignment. Please take care of yourself.

I had this exact issue and went to Manipal Hospital for a checkup. The orthopedic specialist explained that limping throws off your pelvic balance, which triggers hip strain. You should ask your doctor about gait analysis.

Our bodies are beautiful, interconnected systems. When the foundation in our feet is weak, the hips bear the burden of keeping us upright. Stay positive, practice gentle movements, and let your body heal at its own pace.

It definitely can. When you limp or shift your weight to one side to avoid heel pain, your glutes and hip stabilizers get overloaded. Keep working on core stability and wear properly cushioned shoes to balance your gait.

I panicked so much when my hip started throbbing, thinking it was arthritis. But my physiotherapist assured me it is just compensatory pain from walking unbalanced. Once my foot healed, my hip went back to normal completely.

Yes, it can. Walking with an altered gait to avoid heel pain puts a lot of uneven pressure on your hips.

Before you spend thousands on expensive MRI scans for your hip, try buying a pair of affordable orthopedic gel insoles first. Limping causes the hip pain, and fixing the heel support often cures the hip without heavy hospital bills.
