Can plantar fasciitis cause calf pain?

For a while now, I've had heel pain from plantar fasciitis, and recently, I've noticed a nagging ache in my hip on the same side. Could my plantar fasciitis be causing this hip pain, or is it a separate problem?

In my sixty years, I have realized that everything in the leg is tied together. When your heel is inflamed, the calf muscles tighten up automatically to protect it. Do not worry, just give it rest and do some light warm oil massage.

Yes, tight gastrocnemius and soleus muscles are directly linked to plantar fascia tension. Focus on foam rolling your calves and stretching your hamstrings post-workout, it really takes the load off your feet.

Bro, my calves were burning so bad during college sports day and I thought I pulled a muscle. Turns out it was just my plantar fasciitis acting up and pulling the whole rear leg chain. Totally normal but super annoying.

Due to the anatomical connection via the Achilles tendon, calf tightness is both a cause and an effect of plantar fasciitis. It is best to consult a sports physiotherapist to get a proper stretching protocol designed for your specific body type.

Yes, it is very common for the pain to travel up to the calf. Please try soaking your feet in warm water with Epsom salt, it really helps soothe the muscles.
