Can plantar fasciitis cause achilles pain?

I have chronic plantar fasciitis, and recently my Achilles tendon has started hurting too. I thought these were separate issues. Can plantar fasciitis actually lead to pain in the Achilles area?

Beta, the heel is the junction of both these pains. I suggest massaging the heel area gently with lukewarm mustard oil mixed with a little garlic before bedtime. But do not press too hard, let the body heal naturally.

They are highly connected because the tissue on the bottom of your foot runs right into your heel, which links directly to the Achilles. If your doctor gives you the green light, light calf stretches and keeping up with low-impact walking can help keep both areas flexible.

Since both structures connect at the heel bone, inflammation in one can easily stress the other. While stretching helps, it is highly recommended to consult an orthopedist or physical therapist for a targeted recovery plan rather than self-treating.

Yes, they are closely linked because they both attach to the heel bone. Pain in one often triggers pain in the other.

Oh god, I am going through this right now and I keep thinking what if my Achilles tendon tears! The stiffness is real and it makes me so anxious to walk in the morning. Please take proper rest and don't ignore it like I did.

With PCOS, systemic inflammation can sometimes make joint and tendon pain feel worse. I noticed my heel and Achilles both flare up together. I can't say for sure if they cause each other, but wearing supportive footwear has definitely helped ease the tension for me.

My heel hurts, my Achilles hurts, and frankly, my soul hurts from lack of sleep because of this constant throbbing at night. Yes, they definitely team up to ruin your life. Get some gel pads, they are the only reason I can walk to the kitchen.

Absolutely. It is a chain reaction because of poor bio-mechanics. If your foot arch is inflamed, your gait changes, putting massive pressure on the Achilles. Get some orthopedic insoles immediately; they solve half the problem.

Haan beta, dono nasein aapas mein judi hoti hain na. Mere paon mein bhi jab dard hota tha toh pichli taraf tak kheenchaav aata tha. Thoda garam paani mein namak daal kar paon sek liya karo, aaram milega.

Please be very careful. I ignored my Achilles stiffness thinking it was just plantar fasciitis, and ended up with a severe tendon micro-tear that took months of physiotherapy to heal. Please see a doctor before it gets complicated.

Haan yaar, dono ka connection bohot strong hai. Jab plantar fascia khichta hai toh Achilles pe pressure aana normal hai na. Subah uthte hi seedha floor pe pair mat rakhna, thodi stretching kar lena pehle.

I have helped many people on this forum with foot issues. Plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis often go hand in hand because they share the same load-bearing chain. Wearing cushioned slippers even inside the house can prevent this strain.
