Can plan b cause breast pain?

After taking Plan B last week, my breasts have become really tender and painful. I'm not sure if this is normal. Can Plan B actually cause such breast pain as a side effect?

Yes, Plan B causes a huge hormone surge, which commonly leads to breast tenderness. Wearing a supportive sports bra should help ease the discomfort.

Breast tenderness is a documented side effect of emergency contraceptive pills due to the high hormone level. However, if the pain persists for more than a week or if you miss your period, you should get a pregnancy test and see a gynecologist to be safe.

I totally get it, that sore and heavy feeling in the chest can be so uncomfortable and worrying. Yes, Plan B is known to cause breast pain as a common side effect. Give yourself a rest, apply a warm compress, and it should settle down soon.

I ignored severe breast pain after taking an emergency pill once, thinking it was just a side effect, but it turned out my hormone levels were heavily disrupted. If the pain doesn't go away in a week, don't ignore it like I did and get a quick checkup.

Yes, the sudden burst of progesterone in Plan B can make your breasts feel very sore. Try to avoid high-impact workouts for a few days if it hurts too much, and stick to light walking to help with fluid retention and circulation.

My girlfriend took Plan B a few months ago and she had really bad breast pain and bloating for about 4-5 days. It's totally normal because of the heavy dose of hormones, so don't worry too much.

It definitely does, because your hormones are completely out of whack after taking it. It usually subsides in a few days when your cycle resets. If you're busy at work, just wear comfortable clothes and don't panic.
