Can piles cause black stool?

My stool has been looking unusually dark recently, almost black. I also have issues with piles. Is it possible that piles could cause black stool, or should I be looking for other reasons?

Actually, piles usually cause bright red blood, not black stool! 😯 Black stool could mean bleeding is coming from higher up in your stomach or intestines. Please get it checked by a doc soon to be safe! 👍

I've had piles for years and it always causes fresh, red blood. Black stool is usually a sign of digested blood from upper GI tract, or maybe you took iron tablets? Either way, don't ignore black stool, go see a doctor immediately.

No, piles typically cause bright red blood on the toilet paper or in the bowl. Black stool is different and needs a proper checkup. If your doctor says you are fine, regular light walking can really help keep your digestion active and healthy.

I agree with others, piles do not cause black stool, they cause bright red blood. Please consult a doctor immediately because black stool requires proper medical testing.

Do not assume black stool is just because of piles. Black stool can indicate internal bleeding in your stomach or upper digestive tract, which is a serious issue. Stop looking for home remedies and get a doctor's appointment today.
