Can phentermine cause kidney stones?

I'm on Phentermine for weight management, and I'm very careful about hydration, but I'm still concerned. Someone mentioned this medicine might be linked to kidney stones. Can Phentermine really cause kidney stones?

For kidney health, I always drink barley water and lots of coconut water. These strong weight loss tablets can sometimes cause dry mouth and dehydration, which makes stones form. But if you have severe back pain or blood in your urine, don't wait for home remedies, see a doctor immediately.

Man, as if being awake at 3 AM trying to lose weight wasn't enough, now we have to worry about kidney stones? It can dehydrate you because it's a stimulant, and less water definitely leads to stones. Keep chugging water like your life depends on it.

Oh god, I always worry about side effects like this. I read that dehydration from stimulants like phentermine can make your urine concentrated, which definitely increases the risk of stones. Please drink tons of water and definitely consult your doctor if you feel even a little back pain.

I was on phentermine for three months and honestly, I didn't get kidney stones, but I did feel very dehydrated all the time. I made sure to drink a lot of water throughout the day. Everyone's body is different, so just sharing what happened with me.

The simplest solution is to make sure you drink at least 3-4 liters of water daily if you are on this medicine. Phentermine dries you out, which is the main reason stones can form. Don't buy expensive supplements, just stick to plain water and lemon juice.

Staying active and walking daily helps keep your kidneys functioning well and helps prevent stones. Since phentermine is a stimulant, it can dehydrate you fast. Make sure your doctor clears you for exercise, and drink plenty of water during your workouts.

I ended up with a really painful kidney stone last year while trying a restrictive diet and weight pills. It is extremely painful and not worth the risk. Please go see your doctor and ask if you need to stop the medication or get a scan.

Don't blindly trust online forums telling you to take apple cider vinegar or herbs to prevent stones while on this drug. Phentermine can affect your fluid balance. If you are worried, ask your prescribing doctor for a kidney function test rather than trying self-treatments.
