Can pepcid cause kidney stones?

Last month se mujhe stomach problems ke liye Pepcid lena pad raha hai. Someone in my family recently developed kidney stones and mentioned some medications can cause it. I'm a bit worried now, can this medicine be a reason for stones?

According to most medical databases I track on my health apps, Pepcid which is famotidine doesn't directly cause kidney stones. However, long-term use of any antacid can affect mineral absorption. Keep logging your daily water intake on an app to make sure you're flushing your kidneys well.

Please don't ignore any lower back or side pain thinking it's just acidity or a muscle pull. I once ignored mild symptoms and ended up in the emergency room with severe kidney stone pain. Get a simple ultrasound done if you feel something is off.

I deal with a lot of gut issues due to my PCOS and have to be very careful with medicines. I don't think Pepcid is known for causing stones, but honestly, our bodies can react weirdly to regular pill popping. Please talk to a doctor instead of guessing, just to be safe.

Do not let these worries disturb your inner peace, beta. Most of the time, keeping ourselves hydrated with pure water and eating simple home-cooked food keeps the body in harmony. Take care of yourself and trust that a good doctor will guide you well.

If you are taking Pepcid daily for acidity and are worried about kidney stones, don't waste time searching online. Book a quick online consultation with a GP this weekend. It takes 10 minutes and will save you hours of unnecessary anxiety.

I totally get it, searching about side effects can make anyone super anxious. It is scary to think a simple acidity pill could cause stones. Try to breathe easy and just have a chat with your doc to put your mind at rest.

I have had both chronic acidity and kidney stones in the past. My urologist told me Pepcid isn't the culprit, but dehydration and high sodium diets definitely are. Cut down on processed foods, drink 3 liters of water daily, and your kidneys will be perfectly fine.
