Can people with diabetes have stevia?

My wife bought some stevia and suggested I use it instead of artificial sweeteners for my tea, saying it's natural. I have diabetes, so I'm cautious about any sugar substitutes. Can people with diabetes have stevia safely?

Yes, stevia is a great natural option! It doesn't spike your blood sugar levels like regular white sugar does. I use a tiny drop in my morning coffee and it tastes amazing.

I've been managing diabetes for ten years and use organic stevia leaves occasionally. While it doesn't raise sugar, don't overdo it as it can still keep your sweet cravings active. Always monitor your daily fasting levels.

I know how stressful it is to constantly worry about every single bite you take when you have diabetes. Stevia is actually one of the safe things you can enjoy without guilt, so take a deep breath and give it a try.

Agree with others, stevia is a safe alternative. Just make sure you read the ingredients list to avoid hidden fillers.

I started using stevia packets last week, but I feel like my stomach gets a bit bloated and uneasy after having it. Has anyone else experienced digestive issues or is it just my anxiety playing tricks?

Stevia is perfectly fine and much better than chemical sweeteners like aspartame. Just buy the liquid drops or pure powder, use it sparingly in your daily tea, and keep your life simple without spending too much on fancy brands.

Honestly, I use stevia in my protein shakes daily and my sugar readings are perfectly flat. Just don't buy those cheap supermarket versions that are loaded with additives. Go for pure organic extract.

When I was first diagnosed, giving up sweet chai was the hardest part and I felt so miserable. Finding stevia honestly saved me emotionally. It takes some time to get used to the slightly bitter aftertaste, but it helps.

My physician advised that pure stevia is safe because it has a zero glycemic index. However, he warned me to check the packaging carefully. Many commercial brands mix erythritol or dextrose, which can still affect your blood glucose.

Since stevia is a plant-based natural sweetener, it fits perfectly into a clean vegetarian diet. Just ensure you aren't using it as an excuse to eat more processed baked goods, eat whole foods instead.

My grandmother used to say natural herbs are always best, and stevia is just a sweet leaf. Our family doctor also approved it for my evening tea. It is a very safe option if you want to keep your sugar under check.
