Can people with diabetes get drafted?

I've always dreamt of joining the armed forces, but I have Type 1 diabetes which I manage with insulin. I'm wondering if this would disqualify me. Can people with diabetes get drafted into military service in India?

Dekho bhai, strictly speaking, active diabetes makes you medically unfit for military draft. The physical stress and lack of timely meals on duty can be very dangerous for you, so they don't allow it. It's for your own safety.

Please get a proper medical evaluation before even thinking of such physically demanding roles. I once ignored my early diabetic symptoms and tried to push through heavy physical work, which resulted in a massive health collapse. Don't take it lightly.

In all my years of service, I've seen that the military requires peak medical fitness. Diabetes requires regular monitoring and diet management which is impossible in field areas. Don't feel disheartened, there are many other great ways to serve the nation.

I was actually researching this for a project and found that most countries disqualify people with insulin-dependent diabetes from combat drafts. It makes sense because getting access to cold storage for insulin during emergencies is a big logistical issue.
