Can people live without a liver?

I was watching a medical documentary about organ transplants and it got me thinking. The liver does so many critical functions. Is it even possible for a human being to live without a liver, maybe with artificial support?

No, you cannot live without a liver because it performs vital metabolic functions. However, the liver has an amazing ability to regenerate itself, so even a partial liver transplant can grow into a full-sized liver. Please consult a doctor to understand more about liver health.

Actually, living without a liver is impossible because it processes everything we eat, including all our favorite spicy curries! If you have liver issues, it is best to take care of it with a proper diet and medical supervision, so you can keep enjoying food safely.

It is incredibly stressful when a loved one is dealing with liver failure, and I know how overwhelming these thoughts can be. While we cannot survive without a liver, liver transplant surgeries have very high success rates today. Hang in there and keep talking to your doctor.

To be direct: no, human life is not possible without a liver. It filters toxins and produces essential proteins. If there is a serious liver condition, a transplant is the only viable long-term solution, and you should discuss this with a gastroenterologist.

I recently had a major liver scare and learned that while you can't survive without one, you can easily live after a liver transplant where a healthy donor gives a part of theirs. The liver is incredibly resilient and heals wonderfully with proper medical care.
