Can people develop asthma?

Lately, I've been experiencing some shortness of breath and a persistent cough, which is new for me. My mother had asthma as a child, so I was wondering. Is it possible for adults to develop asthma, even if they didn't have it when they were young?

Actually, I have been coughing a lot lately whenever I go out in the dust, and I'm worried it might be asthma. Did anyone else here develop asthma suddenly in their late 20s or 30s? How did it start for you guys?

I totally get it, dealing with breathing issues or suddenly feeling breathless can be really scary. Yes, people can absolutely develop asthma at any age, even as adults. Please take care and get a proper lung test done if you are feeling unwell.

Haan na, with all the pollution and dust nowadays, anyone can develop breathing issues. Many of my friends never had it as kids but got diagnosed recently. It is better to check with a doc and get an inhaler if needed, ho na.

I constantly worry about air quality index and think my mild allergies are turning into severe asthma. It is definitely possible to develop it later in life due to pollution. Please get a spirometry test done soon so you don't keep stressing like me.

It is completely natural to feel worried when you start noticing chest tightness or a wheezing cough. I used to panic and think my life was over when I was diagnosed. But once you see a doctor and start the right management, it becomes very normal and easy to handle.

Yeah bro, you can definitely get it later. I never had any breathing issues growing up, but after moving to Delhi for college, the winter smog triggered adult-onset asthma for me. Got a doctor's checkup, got the right inhaler, and now I'm totally fine.
