Can pcos cause anemia?

I've been feeling extremely tired and weak for months, and my blood tests showed I'm anemic. I have PCOS, and I'm trying to figure out if PCOS can be a contributing factor to developing anemia.

Actually yes, yaar. PCOS can cause crazy heavy and prolonged periods, which basically leads to a lot of blood loss and results in anemia. Definitely check with a doctor to get your iron levels and hemoglobin tested.

Don't trust people on social media selling random detox drinks to cure PCOS-induced anemia, that's just foolish. If you have heavy bleeding and low energy, go verify your hemoglobin levels with a proper lab test. Get a doctor to prescribe actual iron supplements if needed.

I totally get it, dealing with both PCOS and the extreme fatigue of anemia can be so draining physically and emotionally. Heavy periods are really tough to manage. Please consult your doctor soon so they can help regularize your cycles and check your iron levels.

I completely relate to this because my PCOS caused such heavy bleeding that my hemoglobin dropped to 8 last year. I was always tired and dizzy, but taking iron supplements prescribed by my doctor really saved me. Please get your levels checked and take care of yourself!

Yes, menorrhagia—which is abnormally heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding—is a common symptom of PCOS due to anovulatory cycles. My gynecologist explained that this chronic blood loss depletes the body's iron stores, leading to iron-deficiency anemia. You must get a complete blood count (CBC) and serum ferritin test done.

Listen, if you are bleeding heavily for many days because of PCOS, you are obviously losing a lot of iron, which causes anemia. Stop ignoring the fatigue and weakness. Go to a gynecologist, get your blood tested, and start proper treatment instead of waiting.

Honestly, I thought my constant tiredness was just because I sleep at 3 AM, but it turned out my PCOS heavy bleeding made me super anemic! If you feel like a zombie all day, definitely get your iron checked. It might not just be your bad sleep schedule.

Hey, don't worry too much, this is a very common issue with PCOS due to irregular and heavy bleeding. It is highly treatable once you and your doctor address the root cause of the heavy cycles. Please make sure to eat iron-rich foods and get a checkup soon. Take care.
