Can parasites cause rheumatoid arthritis?

My wife was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and we're trying to understand all potential causes. We heard from a naturopath that parasitic infections could sometimes trigger such autoimmune conditions. Could parasites really cause RA?

According to my rheumatologist, chronic gut infections or certain parasites can trigger an inflammatory response in the body, which might mimic joint pain or act as an autoimmune trigger in genetically predisposed people. However, RA is a complex condition. You need a proper blood panel, including RA factor and anti-CCP, along with a specialist's diagnosis.

It must be really tough dealing with these painful symptoms. While there are some studies linking gut infections to autoimmune triggers, it is best to speak with a rheumatologist. I hope you find some relief and get the right answers soon.

I always try natural remedies like turmeric milk or fenugreek seeds for minor joint pains, but rheumatoid arthritis is very different and can cause permanent joint damage. If you suspect parasites or have severe joint stiffness, please see a specialist immediately. Do not rely on home remedies for this.

Our bodies are very sensitive, and sometimes a disturbance in the stomach can disturb the peace of our entire system, including the joints. Please stay positive, take deep breaths, and let a good doctor guide your healing journey. God bless you with good health.

Beta, joint pains can happen due to many reasons, and sometimes stomach issues can worsen the swelling in the body. While you must consult a proper medical doctor for rheumatoid arthritis, drinking warm ginger water can help reduce general inflammation. Take care of your diet and keep your bowels clear.

There is some ongoing research about the gut microbiome and joint inflammation, but a direct link between parasites and rheumatoid arthritis isn't fully established as a standard cause. Since rheumatoid arthritis is a serious autoimmune condition, getting a professional diagnosis from a doctor is definitely the best way forward.

Look, don't confuse reactive arthritis with rheumatoid arthritis. A gut infection can sometimes cause temporary joint pain, but RA is a chronic autoimmune disease. Stop self-diagnosing online and visit a rheumatologist to get a clear, medically backed answer.

I had no idea that parasites could even be connected to something like arthritis. Is it possible that treating the parasite completely cures the joint pain too? If anyone here has gone through this, could you please share your experience?
