Can pantoprazole stop vomiting?

My doctor prescribed pantoprazole for my severe acidity, but I also suffer from occasional bouts of vomiting related to my sensitive stomach. I was wondering, does pantoprazole only help with acidity, or can it also help stop vomiting?

Yes, by calming the excess heat and acid in the stomach, it can ease the urge to throw up. Try to sit in a quiet place and take slow, deep breaths to calm your nervous system. Gentle healing always takes a little time.

It helps by reducing the acid in the stomach, which can soothe that burning vomiting sensation. Along with it, sipping small amounts of ginger or mint water slowly can settle the stomach. But if the vomiting is continuous, please consult a proper doctor immediately.

While it can reduce acid-induced nausea, it is not a primary drug to stop active vomiting. If you are throwing up repeatedly, it could lead to severe dehydration. Please go to a clinic to get the correct medication and maybe an IV fluid if needed.

Actually, pantoprazole is mainly for gas and acid, not directly for stopping vomiting. For vomiting, doctors usually prescribe an antiemetic like domperidone or ondansetron. Better to ask a local pharmacist or doctor for the right tablet instead of guessing.

I have seen this discussed often. Pantoprazole helps if your vomiting is caused by extreme acidity or reflux, but for infection-related vomiting, you need different medicines. Keep sipping ORS to stay hydrated while you wait to see your doctor.
