Can pancreatitis cause elevated liver enzymes?

My recent blood work showed elevated liver enzymes, and my doctor is suspecting pancreatitis might be the cause. I always thought liver issues were separate. Can pancreatitis actually cause liver enzymes to be elevated?

My recent reports showed both lipase and SGOT/SGPT are high and I am so scared. Has anyone else had elevated liver enzymes during a pancreatitis attack? I keep thinking my liver is failing and I can't stop worrying.

I totally get it, seeing abnormal numbers on a blood report is very stressful. Yes, because the pancreas and liver share close pathways, inflammation in one often causes the liver enzymes to go up. Try not to panic, these numbers usually come down once the inflammation settles.

Yes, the organs are closely connected, and stress on the pancreas often affects the liver. Along with your doctor's advice, practicing very gentle breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom can help calm the body's internal inflammation. Take it slow and let the body heal.

You must get this checked by a gastroenterologist immediately. When I had pancreatitis, my liver enzymes shot up because a gallstone was blocking both the pancreas and the liver duct. It became a severe emergency, so please don't wait for it to clear up on its own.

It is true, they both are connected. I tried taking coconut water and light dudhi juice to cool down the digestion, which helped with mild symptoms, but for high liver enzymes, a doctor's advice is absolutely necessary. Don't rely only on home remedies for this.

Haan bhai, pancreatic trouble can affect the liver too as they are like neighbors inside us. Don't worry, just eat very light boiled food and go see a good doctor in town. God will make everything fine soon.

Hey, don't worry too much. It is very common for liver enzymes to rise during pancreatitis because of shared bile ducts or general abdominal inflammation. Keep yourself hydrated, avoid oil completely, and let the doctor guide you. You will be absolutely fine.
