Can pain cause seizures?

My cousin suffers from chronic pain after an accident, and sometimes she has these episodes where she gets very disoriented and her body shakes. Someone mentioned it looked like a seizure. Can really severe pain actually lead to seizures?

While severe pain can sometimes cause a person to faint, actual seizures are usually linked to neurological conditions or high fever. It's definitely not a typical reaction to simple pain. Please make sure to consult a doctor right away to stay safe!

No, pain itself does not typically cause seizures, though extreme distress can occasionally trigger fainting. Please seek immediate medical help if someone has experienced a seizure.

As someone who monitors my blood pressure and health closely, I know that sudden physical shocks can strain the body. However, seizures are a serious medical issue and are not a normal result of pain. You must get a proper brain and heart checkup done by a specialist.

From what I've seen, severe pain can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure leading to fainting, which people sometimes mistake for a seizure. However, true seizures are neurological events and need immediate medical evaluation. Please go to a hospital if this has happened.

I panicked when my cousin fainted and twitched during an intense migraine, thinking it was a seizure. The doctors at the clinic reassured us that it was just a vasovagal syncope due to extreme pain and stress, not a real seizure. Still, getting a professional opinion is highly recommended.

I recently had a severe nerve injury where the pain was so agonizing that I blacked out. The doctors investigated to ensure it wasn't a seizure, and concluded it was just extreme pain shock. Please don't take any chances and get a proper diagnosis immediately.
