Can ovarian cysts cause vomiting?

I've been experiencing really bad nausea and have even vomited a couple of times, especially when my ovarian cyst causes pain. Is it true that ovarian cysts can sometimes cause vomiting?

I was just reading up on this because my cousin has been feeling very nauseous lately. It seems if a cyst gets too large or ruptures, it can trigger severe nausea and vomiting. Definitely seems like a sign to get a medical scan done.

Yes, I had severe vomiting and sharp pain when my ovarian cyst ruptured a few years ago. It is a very real symptom and usually indicates a complication like rupture or torsion. Don't wait for it to subside, go to a clinic immediately.

If it is mild nausea, taking ginger tea or chewing on fennel seeds can give some relief. But if you are actually vomiting and have sharp lower stomach pain, it means the cyst might be putting pressure on your organs or has ruptured. Please see a doctor right away.

I literally just recovered from this last week! I was vomiting and had terrible cramps, and the scan showed my cyst had ruptured. They managed it medically at the hospital and I am much better now. Please go get an ultrasound done without delay.

Do not treat sudden vomiting and pelvic pain with antacids or home remedies thinking it is food poisoning. If you have an ovarian cyst, vomiting can be a sign of a medical emergency like ovarian torsion. Get verified by a doctor immediately.

My wife's gynecologist explained that severe pain from a ruptured cyst or ovarian torsion stimulates the vagus nerve, which directly triggers nausea and vomiting. This is a clinically significant symptom that requires an immediate pelvic ultrasound and medical assessment.
