Can ovarian cancer be missed on ultrasound?

I had an ultrasound recently because of some pelvic pain, and the report said everything was clear. However, I'm still feeling a bit uneasy. Is it possible for ovarian cancer to be missed on an ultrasound?

Yes, sometimes very small changes or early stages can be missed on a basic abdominal ultrasound. My grandmother used to say that we should always get a second opinion if the body still feels unwell. It is best to request a transvaginal ultrasound or a CT scan if symptoms persist.

Ultrasounds are operator-dependent, so smaller tumors can occasionally be overlooked. While you are undergoing deeper medical evaluations, focus on a light, easily digestible vegetarian diet to reduce bloating, which is a common symptom of ovarian issues.

Dekho, ultrasound se sab kuch 100% clear nahi dikhta hamesha. Agar report normal hai par fir bhi pet mein dard ya bloating lagatar bani hui hai, toh kisi acche doctor se milo. CT scan ya MRI karwana behtar hota hai aisi situation mein.

Yes, a standard pelvic ultrasound can miss early-stage ovarian cancer because the changes can be extremely subtle. If your symptoms like persistent bloating or pelvic pain don't go away, push your doctor for a transvaginal ultrasound or an MRI. Don't just sit back.

This is exactly what I've been overthinking lately. My ultrasound came back completely clear, but I still have this nagging pelvic discomfort and bloating. Did anyone else have a normal scan initially but then had to get more advanced tests done to find the issue?
