Can oil pulling cure gum disease?

My dentist told me I have some early signs of gum disease, and a friend suggested I try oil pulling. Can oil pulling really help to cure gum disease or reverse its effects?

My grandmother made me try oil pulling with sesame oil for my bleeding gums. Honestly, it made my mouth feel clean, but it didn't cure the actual infection. I still had to go to a dentist to get a proper cleaning done.

I tried curing my swollen gums with just oil pulling for six months and ignored the dentist. It ended up weakening my roots so much that I had to undergo a painful root canal. Please see a dentist before the infection spreads.

Oil pulling is a beautiful ancient Ayurvedic practice that keeps the mouth fresh and healthy. Treat your body with love, but remember that modern dental care is also important for deep-rooted infections.

I do oil pulling every morning with virgin coconut oil and it really helps reduce my bad breath. However, for actual gum bleeding or cavities, I always rely on my regular dentist visits.

I was reading some articles on this and apparently, oil pulling helps reduce plaque-forming bacteria in the mouth. But it cannot cure advanced gum diseases like periodontitis, which need proper medical scaling.
