Can nsaids cause kidney disease?

My doctor prescribed me some NSAIDs for my chronic knee pain, and I've been taking them regularly for a few months. My brother recently mentioned that these kinds of medicines can affect kidneys. Is it true that NSAIDs can cause kidney disease if taken for long?

Since I have diabetes, my doctor strictly warned me against taking over-the-counter painkillers like NSAIDs. They put extra load on the kidneys, which are already vulnerable in diabetic patients. I always ask my doctor before taking any pill.

I can only speak from what happened to my uncle. He used to take strong pain medicines regularly for his joint pain without checking with anyone, and it eventually affected his kidney health. Now he is very careful.

For mild aches, I usually try hot water bag therapy or turmeric milk instead of popping pills. Frequent use of NSAIDs can definitely harm your internal organs. If the pain is too severe, please get a doctor's advice rather than self-medicating.

Taking painkillers casually can become a huge financial burden later if kidneys get affected. Kidney function tests and treatments are very expensive in private labs. It is much cheaper and safer to consult a general physician for 200 rupees first.

Haan yaar, daily basis pe painkiller khana bilkul safe nahi hai. It really damages the kidneys if we abuse them, na. Better to check with a proper doctor instead of taking these over-the-counter meds like candy.
