Can not eating cause a migraine?

Whenever I skip meals, especially lunch, I often end up with a terrible headache that feels like a migraine. Is there a connection between not eating and getting these intense headaches? I'm trying to manage my triggers.

Yes, absolutely. Skipping meals is one of the most common triggers for a migraine attack because of the sudden drop in blood sugar levels. You need to keep a consistent meal schedule if you want to avoid these painful episodes.

It happens a lot when we skip lunch due to office work. I started keeping simple roasted chana or digestive biscuits in my drawer to munch on when meals get delayed. It keeps the stomach busy and prevents that horrible throbbing headache.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai! Empty stomach se gas banti hai aur wahi sir pe chadhti hai. Time pe khana khaya karo na, dieting ke chakar mein sehat kharab mat karo. Thoda dahi ya chach le liya karo lunch skipped hone par.

Actually, yes! I used to skip breakfast to rush for my morning classes and would end up with a blinding migraine by noon. Now I always keep an apple or some dry fruits in my bag. Even a quick bite helps prevent that nasty headache from starting.

My grandmother always tells me to drink ginger tea when my head hurts from fasting, but my doctor explained that skipping meals causes blood vessels in the brain to constrict. I found that combining my doctor's advice on regular eating habits with mild herbal tea works best to keep migraines away.

If you don't eat on time, the acidity and headache will make you run to a clinic, and those specialist consultations and migraine scans are highly expensive nowadays. Better to spend a little on packing basic snacks from home and eating on time to save yourself from heavy medical bills.

I completely understand how frustrating and isolating it feels when a skipped meal ruins your entire day with a painful migraine. People think you are just making excuses, but the pain is so real and draining. Please be kind to yourself and try to eat small bites even when you don't feel like it.

I used to panic thinking I had some major neurological issue whenever my head throbbed after skipping breakfast. After talking to a general physician, I realized it was just a normal reaction to low blood sugar and acidity. Eating on time has completely solved it for me, so don't worry too much.

I totally get it, the throbbing pain makes it impossible to even look at your phone screen or tolerate any light. Skipping meals triggers a massive headache for me too. Please try to drink some warm water or tea and have a small banana to soothe your system right now.
