Can non smokers get lung cancer?

My uncle, who never smoked a single cigarette in his life, recently got diagnosed with lung cancer, and it was a huge shock to everyone. I always thought only smokers get it. Can non-smokers actually get lung cancer too?

Yes, unfortunately they can. Factors like secondhand smoke, extreme air pollution in our cities, and genetics play a big role. I know it's scary to think about, but taking general precautions and getting regular health checkups is the best we can do.

I completely understand how terrifying this thought is, because I used to obsess over every little cough thinking it was something major. Yes, non-smokers can get it due to environmental factors, but it's still relatively rare. Please don't let anxiety ruin your peace of mind.

Yaar, with the air quality in Delhi and Mumbai, we are basically passive smoking anyway! But jokes aside, yes, non-smokers can get it, though the risk is still way lower than for heavy smokers. Don't stress too much, just wear a mask when the pollution is bad.

Yes, breathing in polluted air and toxins can affect the lungs even if you don't smoke. Doing deep breathing exercises like Pranayama helps strengthen your lung capacity and clear out toxins naturally. Keep your surroundings clean and stay positive.

Listen, while it is true that non-smokers can get lung cancer due to radon or passive smoke, there is no need to panic. Just focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding heavily polluted areas when possible, and seeing a doctor if you have an unexplained, persistent cough.
