Can newborns sleep in a pack n play?

My sister gifted us a pack n play, and it seems so convenient. I was wondering if it's safe for our newborn to sleep in it overnight? We want to make sure she's comfortable and secure.

I used to worry so much about SIDS and safe sleep that I read every manual twice. A pack n play is actually considered very safe for newborns to sleep in as long as you use the original firm mattress with no extra blankets. Do check with your pediatrician to ease your mind.

I am preparing for my baby's arrival and wanted to ask: do we need to buy a separate bassinet attachment for the pack n play, or can a newborn sleep directly on the bottom mattress? I will ask my doctor about this next week.

Yes, dear parent, a pack n play provides a firm and safe resting place for the little soul. Keeping their sleeping space simple and flat is best for their tiny bodies. Do consult your doctor to ensure all safety standards are met.

Yes, absolutely! Both of my kids slept in a pack n play right next to our bed for the first six months. Just make sure the sheet is tight-fitting and there are no toys inside. It is safe, but always verify sleep setups with your pediatrician.

Yes, it is perfectly safe and highly space-saving. Just ensure you do not add any extra soft mattresses or pillows which can cause suffocation risks. Keep it completely empty, and ask your pediatrician for their safe sleep checklist.
