Can newborn sleep in bouncer?

My baby only sleeps peacefully in her bouncer sometimes, and it's a real struggle to get her to nap otherwise. I was wondering if it's safe for a newborn to sleep in a bouncer for a short while? We really need some sleep, doc.

No, they should not sleep in a bouncer. Pediatricians always advise a flat, firm surface for safe infant sleep.

Please do not let them sleep there. I once let my baby nap in a bouncer and she slouched forward, which made her breathe weirdly and panicked us completely. Always consult your pediatrician about safe sleep guidelines.

Absolutely not, it is highly unsafe. Newborns do not have head control, and sleeping at an angle in a bouncer can cause positional asphyxiation. Always put them on a flat crib mattress. Ask your doctor for safe sleep rules.

I used to panic every time my little one fell asleep in the bouncer, but I immediately moved her to the crib. It is totally normal for them to doze off there, but they shouldn't stay in it. Just shift them carefully and talk to your pediatrician.

I am a new mom and I am so confused about this. Is it okay if they nap in it while I am sitting right next to them watching? I will definitely ask our doctor during our next vaccine visit.
