Can naproxen be used for tooth pain?

I have a terrible toothache right now, and I'm waiting for my dentist appointment. I have some naproxen at home for general pain. Can naproxen be safely used to get some relief from severe tooth pain?

Do not just pop naproxen or any other random painkiller you find in your cabinet. Self-medicating for tooth pain can mask a serious infection that needs antibiotics. Go see a dentist first to find the real issue.

Yes, naproxen can temporarily reduce the inflammation and throbbing pain in your tooth. However, you still need to see a dentist to fix the root cause.

Yes, naproxen helps with the swelling and pain. Make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach to avoid severe acidity.

While you can use naproxen for temporary relief, try placing a wet cotton swab with a drop of pure clove oil on the tooth. It is a time-tested way to soothe dental nerves. Please do see a dentist soon to get it treated properly.

My tooth is throbbing so badly and I only have naproxen at home right now. Did anyone else take it for dental pain? Did it cause any acidity or stomach upset? I am super scared to take strong pills without asking.

Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory drug and can help manage severe tooth pain temporarily. But since dental pain usually points to decay or infection, taking painkillers is just a short-term band-aid. Please consult your dentist as soon as possible.
